For little girls

Silk clothes made from traditional Japanese Kimono fabrics

〜 The touch of fabric brings happiness to all 〜

Concept

We hand-make children's clothing (girls only, from 1 m to 1 m20) using traditional Japanese silk kimono fabrics and Obi belts (*1). We're proud of our Japanese heritage of craftsmanship and quality, and strive to create unforgettable garments that enrich the important stages of children's growth.

(*1: These garments are not recycled kimonos, but are made from new fabrics. Obi belts can be new or second-hand, but in excellent condition).

Did you know?

ROLL OF JAPANESE SILK KIMONO TEXTILE

Did you know? The kimono tends to attract attention only for its shape, but what actually makes the kimono special is the traditional Japanese silk weaving. Japanese silk, which is regarded as one of the most delicate and softest in the world, is woven in a variety of different ways and feels different to the touch. Some fabrics are woven by living national treasures, others are decorated with hand-drawn patterns and are sometimes referred to as 'wearable works of art'. Furthermore, the number of sericultural farms has now dwindled to around 160, making it difficult to find identical fabrics even within Japan. One piece of fabric made from this rare silk is approximately 38 cm wide and 12 m long, which is enough to make a kimono for one adult.

Our products

Due to the delicacy and scarcity of Japanese silk fabrics, they are not suitable for factory production, so we make each garment with care, handmade with warmth in mind.

Information on Anoko Shop clothing

Anoko Shop's clothes are handmade and unique, using kimono fabrics and obis from all over the world.

Information on fabrics used

The fabrics selected by Anoko Shop are mainly 100% silk, 100% wool, 100% linen, 100% cotton or a blend of cotton and linen. Fabrics containing polyester are not used. The lining is 100% cotton, which helps absorb children's sweat. Please note, however, that some parts (buttons, ribbons, etc.) are inevitably made of plastic or polyester.

Production information

Each garment is lovingly handcrafted by our boutique staff. We meticulously select kimono fabrics and obis, which are then cut and sewn by hand to match our designs. Since kimono fabrics are not mass-produced, making them very rare, and our garments are individually handmade, each piece in the Anoko boutique is unique in the world.

Washing label information

All garments come with a washing label, in accordance with the Japanese Household Products Quality Labeling Law. These labels are written in Japanese, English and French. Laundry labels are also made from 100% cotton taffeta. We try to use natural materials for parts of the product that come into contact with children's skin.

Informationon made-to-measure garment production

Some clothing designs can be produced individually, so please feel free to contact us for more information. However, as kimono fabrics are not mass-produced, it is not possible to produce the same fabric.
